If I could summarize humanity in only three words,
they would be: stupid, little, magical.
Stupid little magical creatures we are.
“Stupid” because we are short-sighted,
selfish and self-absorbed.
Some truths we ignore,
and some we are simply afraid of.
“Little” because in the eye of the universe
we are a mote of dust.
We think big and act tough,
in a corner of a corner of a dot in space and time.
“Magical” because we are creators
of ways to lie, kill, retreat from society,
of epics, experiments, and empires.
We have the twin magics of laughter and love.
